The Pre-K programs are designed to treat each child as an individual and to stimulate learning in all developmental areas – spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual. We use developmentally appropriate practices in our classrooms as we welcome the students to our St. John School Family.

The Pre-K programs follow the school calendar and school hours. Extended Daycare is available for Pre-K students.

Our daily schedules offer quiet and active times during the day as well as times of small group instruction and whole group instruction. We strive to prepare the students and help them to grow socially, cognitively and spiritually and to foster their natural love of learning. We use multiple centers in the classroom (home center, puzzle center, sensory table, table games center, block center, art/writing center, library center, math & science center).

Faith formation begins by praying daily, learning about God, Jesus, Mary, and the bible, learning about the liturgical seasons throughout the year, and learning about various saints.

The Pre-K3 program uses an inclusive curriculum by Frog Street Press – Frog Street Threes. The curriculum is broken into 9 themes which are covered during the school year. This curriculum includes literacy, math, social science and movement lessons.

The Pre-K4 program uses an inclusive curriculum by Pearson Publishing – OWL – Opening the World of Learning. The curriculum is broken into eight learning units which are covered during the school year. This curriculum includes language, math and social science lessons.

Year to year, we participate in PreK and whole school activities such as:
- Grandparents Mass
- Penny Party
- PreK/K Christmas program
- Easter Egg Hunt/Picnic
- Gray Monkey Parade
- and more!
